Unit 2.4: Poetry




Unit 2.4: Poetry is an expression of feelings (sentidos) or ideas using (utilizando) a particular style (estilo particular) or rhythm (ritmo).

Alliteration

Using the same (utilizando lo mismo) initial consonant sound (sonido).


Example
Consonant "F": Flies fly far for food.
Consonant "P": Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.

Rhyme:The same ending sound.


Example:

Twinkle, twinkle little star.
How I wonder what you are.

The words "star" and "are" have the same ending sound. They rhyme.

Example:

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.

The words "wall" and "fall" have the same ending sound. They rhyme.
